Taylor told Page Six in a Nov. 17 interview, "He needed to be doing anything besides working." "He needed care."

Aaron "didn't seem alright physically," but Taylor said he was psychologically "enthusiastic" and had plans for a new album before he died.

"He was aware of what others wanted from him," Taylor said. "We had so much going on, and Aaron was a pretty proud man."

Taylor says there are no imminent plans to release Aaron's music posthumously, but he will make sure it "goes through the necessary channels" to assist the late star's son financially. "We're grieving and not interested in initiatives," Taylor said.

Aaron's management team criticized Ballast Books for releasing an incomplete memoir shortly after his death. On Nov. 10, Aaron's team labeled the book "obscenely rude and unauthorized."

"This is a moment for grieving and introspection, not heartless money grabs," Aaron's team said.

Ballast Books has postponed the book's launch "out of respect for the Carter family" after outrage from Aaron's management and ex-girlfriend Hilary Duff.

"My client has decided to defer the book's release," the author's attorney informed the outlet. Mr. Carter was a father, brother, son, and friend to many still hurting.
