Why wasn't Ser Criston Cole hanged for murdering a man in front of The King and the court? Ryan Condal, House of the Dragon co-creator:
Criston Cole is lucky.
As a young knight, he pledged his sword to Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.
In last week's episode of House of the Dragon, he violently beat Laenor Velaryon's boyfriend Joffrey to death for mentioning Cole and Rhaenyra's sexual relationship.
Criston prepared to commit suicide before Queen Alicent Hightower stopped him, and he was still by her side after a 10-year time leap in Sunday's episode.
Co-creator Ryan Condon explained to EW.
"False. Different times. Alicent helps him.
The final scene reveals this. Alicent protects him, begs for his life and honor, and wins. In episode 6, he's completely dedicated to her."
If we accept it, wouldn't Laenor desire revenge? We hope Ser Criston Cole gets what's coming to him in a future episode.
