The paper reported that Jin, who turns 30 on December 4, will be placed in a unit after five weeks of boot camp training.

The report was denied by BTS' agency, HYBE, and the South Korean Ministry of Defense. Jin hinted at a "front-line" position on social media last week.

After several years of uncertainty, the group revealed in October that Jin would begin mandatory military service. HYBE said the group would pursue individual projects and reunite in 2025 after serving.
