According to The Daily Mail, the organisation, which aids young people between the ages of 11 and 30, gave London-based designer Lenique Louis a loan of £2,000 in 2009.

Louis specialises in handcrafted jewellery, and thanks to the popularity of her designs, she was selected as an ambassador for the nonprofit.

She shared a The Mail piece on Tuesday that stated the earrings were made with recycled gold and environmentally friendly packaging in an Instagram post.

Louis added, "Back in 2009, I never would have imagined that someone within the Royal Family would be presenting my jewellery," in an interview with The Mail.
