King Charles Attends First Festival of Remembrance with Queen Camilla

The royal family attended London's Royal Albert Hall's annual event with the King and Queen Consort.

The royal couple attended Saturday's Festival of Remembrance in London's Royal Albert Hall to honor British and Commonwealth veterans.

Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent, and Princess Alexandra attended the Festival of Remembrance.

King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the other guests wore crimson poppy pins to honor war dead.

The historic Queen did not attend last year's Remembrance Day festivities after her death on Sept. 8 at 96, making her son Charles the new ruler. After being hospitalized, the monarch canceled many appearances.

Due to a sore back, Queen Elizabeth canceled her Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph. Charles placed his mother's wreath at the Cenotaph.
