Prince William Thanks "Hardy Bostonians" for Braving Rain on First Official Outing in Boston

The Prince and Princess of Wales will spend three days in the U.S. before the lavish Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony on Friday.

On Wednesday, the Prince and Princess of Wales arrived in Boston for their three-day U.S. tour.

The royal couple and Mayor Michelle Wu lit Boston City Hall and other sites green for their first official event of the trip, counting down to Friday's second annual Earthshot Prize Awards presentation.

Before the lighting ceremony, Prince William, Massachusetts Governor-elect Maura Healey, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and Reverend Mariama White-Hammond spoke briefly.

"There are two reasons why Boston was the obvious choice to host the Earthshot Prize in its second year," he stated.
