When the royals went to church on Christmas Day 2019, the Princess of Wales shared a personal regret.

For the first time, Kate and Prince William brought their eldest children, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte, to the service.

As usual, the royal mother attended the worship service at St. Mary Magdalene Chapel in Sandringham in a trendy furry-trimmed Catherine Walker coat,

but she told Karen Anvil and her daughter Rachel that she disliked her choice of clothes because she was hot.

Karen told Metro: "Kate was discussing clothes and her heat with my daughter. 'I shouldn't have worn this,' she said."

Karen, who famously photographed the "fab four" photo of the Cambridges and Sussexes walking to church in 2017, handed Charlotte a doll, which the young royal accepted.

The small child received a doll and a pink inflatable flamingo from another royal fan and hugged her to thank her.

William and Kate's one-year-old son, Prince Louis, stayed home. The Queen, Prince Charles, Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie were also out on Christmas Day.

The Cambridges seemed to enjoy Christmas with the royals. Mike Tindall, Zara's husband, has shared Sandringham family traditions.

The former rugby great responded to a 2018 House of Rugby podcast question about Christmas at the castle: "Good.

Since they give everyone the day off and their main day is Christmas Eve, Christmas Day is a chilly buffet and quieter."

Mike said the family watches the Queen's speech "with a small glass of something." Many family members watched the 2018 Downton Abbey Christmas special. "Many people watch it," he remarked.

Mike also discussed the 2019 royal Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace with the Cambridge family on the program.

"The family lunch—about 70 of us—has seven tables and a space for the kids. On Prince Charles' table. Wonderful." Mike said, "Not on that day - no."
