Queen Elizabeth graciously accepted Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's daughter Lilibet's name, according to Prince Philip's friend Gyles Brandreth's upcoming book.

The book, which is making news in the UK, said that while the royal family was "bewildered," the late Queen saw Harry's daughter's name as a compliment.

The book stated that the Queen accepted the baby's pet name, unlike other royals.

given that 'Lilibet' as a name had always been intimately and exclusively the Queen's," Gyles Brandreth said.

"After that, the Queen said: 'I hear they're saying her 'Lili,' which is very pretty and seems just right.'" After the Sussexes retired, Lilibet was born in the US.
