As they entered Westminster Abbey, Kate Middleton comforted her tearful 7-year-old. As they entered the church, the Princess of Wales held the little royal's hand.

George and Charlotte were respectful and well-behaved at the funeral, with Charlotte wearing a black frock and horseshoe-shaped diamond brooch. The brooch was supposedly a present from her late great-grandmother to the only daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
