Ticketmaster tweeted, "Due to excessive demand on ticketing systems and limited remaining ticket inventory, tomorrow's public on-sale has been canceled."

Swift called the cancellation "excruciating." "Well. I'm protective of my fans. We've been doing this for decades, and I've brought so many components of my job in-house," she said via Instagram Stories.

"I did this myself with a team that cares as much about my fans as I do to improve their experience. It's hard for me to trust outsiders with my relationships and loyalties, and it's agonizing to see mistakes happen without recourse.

Ticketmaster blamed the problems on increased demand and efforts to screen out bots.

Despite the extended apology, Ticketmaster noted that "nearly 2 million tickets were sold on Nov. 15 for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour."
