The photo, taken by Matt Porteous earlier this year at their Norfolk, England, home, shows the family of five holding hands as they go outside in casual clothes.

William, 40, and Middleton, 40, donned blue trousers and long-sleeved shirts, while their children wore shorts and short-sleeved shirts.

Recently, the family has relaxed for holiday photos.

The royal family posed in Jordan last year. William, George, and Louis donned polo shirts and shorts, while the mom of three and Charlotte wore gowns.

In 2020, the family snuggled on haystacks in sweaters. William and Kate took their last formal holiday portrait with their children at Kensington Palace in 2017.

After a tough year for the royal family, their holiday card provides joy. On Sept. 8, his father, King Charles III, succeeded his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who died at 96.

This will be the family's first Christmas after Her Majesty's death. At the late monarch's Sandringham House, the royal family celebrated Christmas.

This year's royal holiday destination remains to be discovered. After their explosive docuseries, which criticizes the British press and royal family, Williams' brother  Harry and his wife, Meghan, may not attend this year.
